Changes to the scope of a project are almost inevitable and can occur on any construction project. The scale and number of these changes can significantly impact productivity and costs, and, if handled improperly, can lead to disputes or even litigation. To assist mechanical contractors in managing the change process, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada developed a new Change Order Protocol. The purpose of the Guide is to provide a fair and reasonable process for the costing and pricing of changes and provide some best practices in the Change process.
