Each year, March 11 marks World Plumbing Day; an opportunity to celebrate the importance of plumbing and plumbers in protecting public health and providing access to clean water and sanitation facilities.

Dave Holek, President and Chair of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada, provided the following statement to recognize World Plumbing Day:

“The celebration of World Plumbing Day is an opportunity to reflect on the important role the plumbing sector plays in our day-to-day lives, and the skilled men and women plumbers that have continued to serve this industry throughout the pandemic,” said Dave Holek, president and chair of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada. “At the same time, and certainly in the context of a global pandemic, it is even more important that we recognize those systems that are so vital to our health, safety, and well-being. So much of our daily lives is impacted by our plumbing systems, and we are proud to celebrate everyone involved in this essential industry and sector.”
