MCA Canada's Charity
Operation Eyesight Universal
Canada has high standards of sanitation – something we often take for granted because we have easy access to clean water, one of the most precious resources in the world. Yet in developing countries, nearly 80 percent of illnesses are linked to contaminated water and poor sanitation.
Trachoma is the world’s leading cause of preventable blindness. Preventable blindness is a serious global health issue, affecting more than 325 million people worldwide. The vast majority of those affected live in low income countries like Zambia, where poverty prevents access to clean water. Despite its abundant water reserves, Zambia has inadequate safe water points and few facilities to utilize water for irrigation development. You can help bring clean, protected water to Zambia to prevent this disease.
MCA Canada has partnered with Operation Eyesight Universal, an international development organization based in Calgary dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness.
Since 1963, Operation Eyesight has brought sight-saving treatment to more than 35 million people and MCA Canada members and associations have contribute over $155,000.00 to date.
We are on our way to meeting its goal of building another 70 wells/water points in Zambia but we still have a long way to go. Your generous donation will go directly to the building of a well or water point in Zambia.
To contribute you can download the following form by clicking the Donation Pledge Form.
