A2L Refrigerant Transition and New CSA B52 Mechanical Code Webinar

This seminar will discuss A2L refrigerants, their types and key properties with regards to lowering GWP mandates. We will reference the latest ASHRAE Std 15 and Std 34, and its current transitional status in Canada as compared to the US. The seminar will also cover the latest CSA B52 mechanical code (Ver. 2023/13th version) which was recently released by CSA. It will highlight key changes and amendments, new clauses etc. as compared to its previous versions, and also discuss the next steps towards its adoption into provincial building codes; a key step to successfully begin the A2L transition in Canada.
Presenter: Pushpinder Rana, Product Director – Engineering & Services – HVAC Division
Pushpinder Rana works as Product Director – Engineering & Services at Mitsubishi Electric Sales Canada Inc., responsible for commercial products and industry relations. He is a professional engineer and holds an MBA degree, and has 20+ years of international work experience in the HVAC industry.
He is a voting member at CSA-B52 and an instructor under ASHARE Learning Institute (ALI) where he runs VRF Design and Application trainings across North America. At CSA-B52, he is chairing the technical committee responsible for updating B52 code with A2L refrigerants and other key changes in coordination with regulatory bodies. He is also associated with HRAI,AHRI, CaGBC, MASHRAE and other entities, and participates routinely in panel discussions and industry events.
