Preparatory Institute for Project Management – Offered by MCA of America

The course cost is $985 USD, which will be billed by MCAA after registration and must be paid by credit card.

WHAT IS IT?

  • A new online program administered by the MCAA, intended to be a precursor to their Institute for Project Management, overseen by the same committee that manages the IPM and
  • A 12-week curriculum, taught as a series of 90-minute classes, covering topics fundamental to project management at an introductory

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • Individuals on the project management track, who have relatively little (0-3 years) experience in the
  • This includes:
  • Assistant Project Managers
  • Project Engineers
  • New Hires
  • Those transitioning to office from the field

COURSE STRUCTURE

  • Pre-IPM is designed and taught by experienced contractors and professional instructors who have first-hand understanding of the challenges facing project managers, and the skills required to meet those
  • Each session is a combination of lecture and Q&A, ensuring that students are involved in a dynamic learning experience.
  • Participants will be quizzed after each class and there will be regular homework assignments. Lectures will be live (not recorded), and attendance is required. Upon completion of all course requirements, participants will receive MCAA Pre-IPM

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

To complete Pre-IPM and receive certification from the MCAA, participants must:

  • Attend all 12 classes in the program (which will take place on Wednesdays: 11:30am-1:00pm PDT / 12:30pm-2:00pm MDT / 1:30pm-3:00pm CDT / 2:30pm-4:00pm EDT – see below schedule for full details). Lectures will not be recorded
  • Complete all 12 quizzes by their deadlines (quizzes will be sent out immediately after each class, and you will have until 9am the next morning to submit them).
  • Complete regular homework assignments by their due dates. Due dates will be announced in

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Participants must log in via a computer – not a phone or tablet. We recommend using a large external monitor (not a laptop screen) for best viewing quality during
  • A participant’s computer must have audio and video capability. They will be called upon to come onscreen to answer questions or share your
  • The expectation is one person per computer (e.g. multiple participants from the same company may not share a login/computer).
